Fintech, artificial intelligence and Web3 technologies to be discussed in Istanbul
Istanbul Fintech Week, which will be organized for the fifth time this year, will host over 80 speakers and more than 65 sessions.
Istanbul Fintech Week (IFW’24), Turkey’s first and largest global financial technology event, opens its doors for the fifth time this year with the theme “Convergence: Web2 and Web3 worlds come together” theme for the fifth time this year. The event, which will be held on April 16-17 at Fişekhane, Istanbul, brings together both local and foreign fintech authorities.
Shaped by the theme of the meeting of traditional finance and new finance, the two-day high-level fintech meeting will include topics such as Web3, digital currencies, artificial intelligence, the use of financial technologies in businesses, digital banking, payment services. With over 80 speakers, over 25 sponsors and partners, IFW’24 will host 65 sessions in 6 sub-summits. For two days, entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to present their startups to investors and technology companies will have the opportunity to introduce their products to customers. Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan will make presentations about their fintech ecosystems as guest countries. The topics on the agenda of the sector will be evaluated by high-level participants in 9 round table meetings throughout the two days. As last year, approximately 1500 participants are expected to attend the event.
Among the prominent speakers of Istanbul Fintech Week, which will be held for the fifth time this year; Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Prof. Dr. Hatice Karahan, Clara Drodie, author of Decoding AI in Financial Services, Christina Frankopan from UCL Blockchain Center, publisher of Fintech Business Weekly and social media pioneer in the fintech industry. Hatice Karahan, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, Clara Drodie, author of Decoding AI in Financial Services, Christina Frankopan from UCL Blockchain Center, Jason Mikula, publisher of Fintech Business Weekly and one of the pioneers of social media in the fintech industry, Paolo Sironi, IBM Banking Global Research Director, Amnah Ajmal, Deputy General Manager of Mastercard EEMEA, Pınar Özcan, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Oxford University. Prof. Dr. Emre Alkin, Rector of Topkapı University, will also be a speaker at the event, which will also include a high-level roundtable discussion titled The Effects of Financial Inclusion on the Economy.
The first day of Istanbul Fintech Week is dedicated to Web3, Artificial Intelligence in Finance and Tradetech Summits. On Tuesday, April 16, Bitcoin ETFs and post-halving developments will be discussed immediately after the keynote speech. This part of the event will discuss Web3 technologies and opportunities for tokenization of assets, as well as a comparison of traditional finance with Web3 technologies. In the second half of the day, Artificial Intelligence applications in finance and the place of technology in capital markets will be discussed in two separate summits. The day will end with an award ceremony titled “Pioneers of Digital Finance”.
The second day of the event will focus on digital banking, payment systems, fintech applications in businesses and the role of women in the fintech sector.
